MJE Coaching was launched by Melanie English in 2005.

In 2004 I finally acknowledged to myself what I had known for several years - that my career in IT was making me unhappy. I had been feeling that way for some time but didn't know what to do about it and was quite low and unsure of myself. With my husbands backing I left a 7 year career in IT and took a couple months to find my feet again and come up with a new plan.. It was at this point that I started to hear about Life Coaching. It seemed to offer some great solutions to solving my own career dilemmas so I started to read about it. I learned to look at my situation from a different perspective - to acknowledge my strengths and achievements, to believe that I really could achieve what I wanted and most importantly to figure out in detail what it actually was that  I wanted. I was so intrigued by what I learned that the path ahead seemed clear. I booked myself on the best Life Coach Training course I could find and haven't looked back since.

I love working one-to-one with clients and have a genuine curiosity in their lives and experiences. Life Coaching isn't about fixing people's problems but using the methodologies I have learned, I can work with my clients to enable them to see the path ahead much more clearly and have the strategies, plans and motivation to make progress.

Providing a first class coaching service is of upmost importance to me, so I take any opportunities available to me to improve my coaching knowledge and expertise - from attending lectures and coaching groups to undertaking further training and self study.

Since training as a coach I have participated in regular co-coaching and supervision with colleagues which both ensures that my coaching is up to scratch and allows me to benefit from coaching myself.

Honesty, integrity and respect for others are core principles that I live by and employ in my coaching practice. I am very pragmatic and down to earth and take great care to be realistic in describing what Life Coaching sessions can achieve. Coaching is not a miraculous cure-all that will give you a perfect life - it is not as simple as setting goals and following steps until they are achieved. Life is fluid and surprising and things change - a coaching approach ensures that whatever the twists and turns of life we are always questioning what is going well, what is in need of improvement and where we are headed, and that is how I live my life.

I am an Associate member of the European Coaching Institute and abide by their standards and ethics. I am fully insured and offer a money back guarantee in the unlikely event that a client felt they had not gained a benefit from coaching.
